geez, the only things in common with the edit are the stars. someone here invented the stars, I suppose
@SisSnappedLikeThanos clearly puts a lot of time and effort into her art it is blatantly clear they took inspiration from her no ones saying she invented stars. We are saying she posted multiple pieces of art with star hair accessories on the forum where they can be seen by Glu designers and then they realised similar star hair accessories without crediting her at all.
I’ve seen some edits done with all the current dyes on hairstyles we have and also on eye and lips make up! It look amazing please add the dyes for the hairstyle and makeup next update
we already have hair accessories with stars in our wardrobe. since forever. so i'll keep my opinion.

Can this update give willow a new outfit or new hair because 6 years of playing this game (on & off) seeing her like that gives me nausea lol (also yeah deleted my game progress where i wasted more than 200 dollars on items and i started over yeah they returned the currency but i lost most of the SMC lol i ain't even mad because I'm a fan of the game) when is the update arriving so i can be ready
literally the same thing happened to me. when i was in middle school 5 years ago i played this game and spent 200$ (of my parents money) on it. then deleted the game and all that money was wasted lol
@sherrywine nobody said she invented those stars. The hairstyles were CLEARLY straight out of her edits with just the stars added. You don’t need to be rude.
So I was browsing old threads for some wishlist items and found this hairstyle, this is from the Throwback collection. The thread was dated 2018, so I assume it's from 2016-2017 (?) It has kinda similar vibe to Thanos' artwork. I don't know if she was creating edits for the forum back then bc I'm newish to the game, but if she wasn't, then I'd assume that Glu didn't copy from her. (edited our the doll for privacy) I also remember that we have a hair with stars in the Kloset - found this one and if anything, I think that Kalinda's hairstyle was a remake of this one.
I understand Thanos' feelings and the goal of this post is not to invalidate them. I don't take such accusations lightly because I think that copying from little independent artist is shameful. However in this case I truly don't think like they copied anything and I say it with full respect.
Plagiarism is a serious accusation. I don't understand why some users are saying that this was a blatant and obvious copy of @SisSnappedLikeThanos ' work. While I agree that @SisSnappedLikeThanos worked hard on her edits and they are indeed very beautiful, I can't see how it's an obvious ripoff? It's not like glu literally traced her edit and placed the same star pattern on the hair? Glu's looks more like a crown/headband while @SisSnappedLikeThanos looks more like a clip or an aura even on that last image.
Glu has created a lot of hairstyles w stars in the past, why is this now being brought up? This game rips off designs from actual runways, fashion brands, and celebrity style and I feel like that's why we enjoy it so much cause we can see our dolls dress in our faves' outfits and in designer brands. Why don't we demand that those original artists and designers get credited/compensated as well? It's definitely something Glu can do since we have Balmain and Roberto Cavalli collections in the game but I'm not saying that this necessarily needs to be done though.

I usually don't come out and do this on online forums but it was getting hostile and I don't think it was fair to put Glu or @KalindaKing on blast without actual evidence of copying or plagiarising. Hope this issue will die down soon. Full respect to everyone who engaged in this conversation and I'm not trying to invalidate anyone's feelings but this really didn't need to go this far.

Y'all, even IF they didn't steal (and that's a big IF) we've been talking about it for what? A day? Two days? They could've AT LEAST addressed it. Whether to clarify, apologize or whatever. Team's been brushing a lot of our comments and complaints aside, without acknowledging us. And we @ kalinda because she's active and she is our link to them. Again, stealing artwork is a literal crime btw, not to mention the disrespect and discouragement to the creator. And again, they could address it anytime now, but I'm pretty sure they won't. Waiting and hoping to get proved wrong.
Glu took a lot of inspo from @SisSnappedLikeThanos work in the past. Don't forget the christmas light aura in special boxes. Anyway, the @SisSnappedLikeThanos 's hair with stars is way better than the glu's one. As always. Period.
I think some of you might be confused on the concept of art plagiarism. It literally doesn’t have to be a carbon copy, nor does she have to invent the concept of a star for it to count.
So the big ol chunky stars Glu has done are definitely different from Thanos and that may be enough for some of you to think they’re entirely different. But from the three pictures of Thanos’ shown earlier, framing hair with star effects could be called a signature look she does in her edits. So it’s about the placement of the stars.
In any Glu hair previously shown, you can tell easily whether it’s supposed to be a headband or separate star pins. In my opinion the spoiler photo is not so easy to discern, making it more similar to the edits as well. I don’t know why we think in a game where all the clothes are ‘inspired’ by real life sources, that they couldn’t be inspired by edits that are very popular on their forum. Especially if it has genuinely happened before. Try to think how you’d feel about it if it were you, even if you don’t think it counts as plagiarism this time, you wouldn’t be happy at the possibility of art theft would you? I wouldn’t expect them to address it, they’ve still got to deal with that awful SYS being full of the ticket glitches that were supposed to be gone. And imagine what this thread will turn into if the update isn’t today and we aren’t told in until hours in again 😨 They’ve got a lot on their plate today for sure. I really hope so! It was such a big deal to me that we were celebrating pride in KKH with the little flag and cute outfit! Such a special moment for me with this game
In this update I would like the pride flag handheld (which was introduced to the girls last year or sth) for the guys since it's pride month now. Please Glu guys support LGBT rights too...
