I have a theory on why votes seem to have “dropped” recently. Last kimiversary, I bought new facial features, better dresses and really upgraded my wardrobe. It drastically increased my scores. I was brand new on the forum and I saw a lot of people talking about how their scores had decreased. I think we may be experiencing decreased scores because other dolls are now scoring better, therefore we’re splitting the vote. Just a theory!
@jhabs I was talking with @Chooky1116 about that just last week and I totally agree that could be a possibility - I said that or dolls not voting for people with the upgrades because they don't have them
So the other last weeks we were trialing this, there were a couple items in my Palettes. Was definitely expecting the sports hat with pink ends to be there again this time around as it was always present in every box, but look at my first box since the update... absolutely NO items.
Idk why there’s no items when I still don’t own them all yet - there’s maybe 20 that I still haven’t got, so why aren’t there any in my box? @glu

I also checked the odds for the boxes and I don’t think they have changed at all. My guess is Glu will make no effort to change this. I think I’m about to give them my first rating on the App Store cause this is absurd. You shouldn’t treat customers like this after you said you would talk about the issues and fix them. And still no word from Glu about any of this...
As I expected, no items in my bronze box! I’m not positive, but think I collected all of them already. But this palette looks sad, full of energy and dye.

In this sys as i can see so far smthg wrong is going on with voting as it takes an hour or more to complete and last week it was very fast. My last look was viewing 14 votes for 30 minuts and after several minuts it was already 3 votes...
It kind of seems like nothing changed? The boxes still look the same and energy is still there sadly. I’m happy that i at least picked 5 dyes instead of 3!✨
My first earnable box. I got the best pick in an otherwise horrible palette... Really annoyed seeing energy and non rare dyes still in these boxes. So like what was all our feedback for? So many posters wrote so many thorough and good suggestions about how to improve this event and there’s literally nothing different. I’m just... at a lost for words. Between the crappy money grubbing update to no changes in this “test” event, it’s just plain tiresome dealing with this company as all they care about is money. Someone else said they are just testing the profitability of the event... I totally believe that.
Also, just going to add - Glu you need to compensate players who were not picked - It really isn’t fair!
So, hi guys! I ran an experiment during the weekend to really see how the voting rewards work. I could put it in the other SYS thread, but it's just as relevant here since it's just about SYS in general.
Basically, I wanted to find out the frequency of diamonds being rewarded.
TLDR: 1/24
I made sure that I got a diamond from voting, THEN started my experiment from that point so that I could see exactly how many votes it would take me to get another diamond. In total, I voted 1026 times before I finally received a diamond. Of course, some of the votes will be for the non-popular pick, and thus not count towards the voting rewards. So I also recorded the amount of reward rounds I made it through. The answer was 24. This means that I voted for the non-popular pick 306 times. Now, I'm very harsh when voting. If you're not on theme, I'm voting for the other person, even if the clothes are nice. If both people are off-theme, I exit out. Following theme is the bare minimum for me.
But I not only wanted to see what the diamond frequency was, I was also curious about the rest of the rewards. We all know that Kash is the most common one, but how common exactly? I'm actually wondering if they did increase the chances slightly with the update, because previously, I've NEVER been rewarded a diamond across multiple SYS's.
This experiment was really important to me, because it really highlighted the extreme effort you have to put in to get a diamond. I did some timing, and you'd have to spend 2 full hours of constant voting to reach a diamond. That doesn't sound too-too bad, but I had to break sessions down to only around 100 votes at a time because my brain gave up after a while. This would probably be slightly more time depending on the theme too. The Beach Babe theme was "easy" in the sense that you could pretty quickly determine who won with such a clear picture in your head. You're wearing a swimsuit? You win, dude. But if we go back just a few SYS's the voting can require more time to think about who wins. I'm talking milliseconds, but it adds up in the end. Remember the pain of voting in the 90's supermodel SYS? Almost none of my votes counted towards the Popular Pick reward during that one.
So what does this mean? Well, my experiment is far from perfect, and I should probably do more of these documentations on diamonds to really find out if it's 1/24 or maybe closer to 1/32 or 1/22 if the experiment was repeated several times over. I'm satisfied for now, but this really highlighted the lack of diamonds in the game. I'm obviously not proposing that Glu should gift 100 diamonds to every player every time they reach the voting reward. That's just not going to happen. I do think that diamonds should be attainable in small amounts for various things though. Adding one diamond to the daily gift box every once in a while, do a jewelry business where you can work to be rewarded 2 diamonds per week, maybe increase the chances to 1/16. I don't absolutely hate diamonds as a currency, but a currency doesn't really work if there is just no way to obtain enough to use it within a reasonable time frame.

@Jabberwooh this is so interesting! However I agree that the experiment should be done more times. I did something similar when diamonds were first released as a reward in the voting booth and I voted during 50 daily full rounds from the start of the event and got a diamond during the last day of the event when I was ready to give up lol, most of the rewards were kash and there was a point where stars just stopped coming.
Also, in my case, sometimes I've gotten a diamond during the first couple of rounds, sometimes I get one after days of voting and sometimes I get none, no matter how much time I spend in the voting booth so I figured it was totally random but now I'm curious again 🤓

@dpeters Definitely. I intend on repeating it a few times but my fingers needed a small break from writing tick marks and voting for infinite swimsuits. I'm even wondering if there is interest in a thread dedicated to theories and experiments only? I'd love to see more people replicating the experiment, especially in case there's a difference in the device you're playing on. Although, I fully understand if no one wants to because it was hell to stop every 2 seconds to document everything -.-
