Iām sorry to interrupt but Iāve already asked this question in the update thread but no one answers š Iāve asked if it is cultural incorrect or not. I wanted to know if I can wear this hair. Until now I didnāt wear it.
Cultural appropriation is relative. If you have it and want to wear it, just wear it sis. That hair is glorious. Donāt mind them jealous a$$Ā£$ who are just salty for not getting it on their spin š¤Ŗ
Oh yeah I guess discrimination and slavery was glorious too 𤪠please educate yourself. Iām refraining from saying so much out of respect for the forum and the rules.Ā
I'm not a black person so I don't know if I should speak about this, there are people who live in countries whose population doesn't have a lot of black people so it's expected they are ignorant, in my country it's rare to see black people, some people here are dark skinned but not black, but luckily I know about all the issues the black community is facing such as racism. Like I was saying, if your country it's like mine or it has a mainly white population it's expected you are uneducated on this issues, but the problem is when you invalidate people feelings and make your beliefs be the correct ones because you are ignorant on this issues. If you don't have acknowledge about that issues then you shouldn't be running your mouth, if you say something and get called out you can apologize only if you searched about the issues and realized how insensitive your comment was, but when you get called out and come off as rude then f* you. I'm Hispanic and other Hispanic people has no business invalidating the black community struggles, you are lying if you say you got insulted because of your skin color here in Latin America to the point you feel scared or helpless, maybe if you are dark skin there is a chance that you did get insulted because I have seen that happen, but you are not facing the same struggles as black people, you can be outside without worrying you might get attacked because of your skin color, you know the justice system will not fail you. Everyone gets insulted for something, bad makeup or body/facial features, and it makes you feel bad right? So imagine how black people feel about being attacked for just being themselves!! You can change your makeup technique or even consider plastic surgery if you don't really like a feature of your body, but black people can't change their skin, it makes me so sad seeing videos like the little girl who think she is ugly because of her skin color š, Can't everyone be a little emphatic? Can't everyone put themselves in the shoes of black people? If you can be emphatic for everything but not for this issues then you are simply racist, just say it .Ā
Coming back to the forum after a break to see people defending cultural appropriation, invalidating others experiences and making fake accounts to spout thinly veiled racism. Ā
Edit: donāt be shy @kokokokonut check the IP address of the ānewā doll š¤Ŗ
Iām not a POC, but please just take some time to educate yourself instead of being a troll, itās the least you can do when youāve never experienced anything discriminating because of privileges.Ā

What century is it in?Ā By God, really.Ā I mean, only people of color can wear braids, I don't know in their countries but in mine if you want to do Afro hairstyles, not being Afro you do it and no black person is offended because I wear it, before they applaud.Ā I am Black and that does not offend me, before I am proud that you use it. I've finished. @uglyjackieyour comment sounds racist to me.

Ok thanks for replying. Sorry if you see me as ignorant or uneducated because of my question. I see some others wear this and was confused if itās allowed or not.

There's literally a whole closet of hairs that non Black dolls can wear and can win through weekend events. But when Black hairstyles are usually held in kollections, not to mention DIAMOND kollections ... Y'all don't really see how unfair that is? How discriminatory it is? Most dolls can make their dolls ~look like them or ~people they know but it literally is harder for Black dolls to express themselves in this game. And sure it's a jUsT a GaMe but can you imagine how tiring it is to live life being policed and then in a GAME where you're trying to distract yourself or have fun you're reminded of reality??
You cannot speak for black people when it comes to their culture. Smh. They said it was offensive and people are still arguing with them. š¤¦š¼āāļø

Please lol donāt even come for her trying to call her a racist. Just because it doesnāt offend you doesnāt make it right. Thereās PLENTY of other hairstyles that can be worn. People do not understand the history behind it. Log out please.

I had an aneurysm trying to read this. Maybe educate yourself before coming at me and accusing me of being racist when Iām literally not. I didnāt say non-poc canāt wear braidsāIām talking about specific hairstyles.Ā
I wish we could gift items between games from our own kloset, i have two beautiful POC hairstyles Iāll never use on my doll, i think at least one was from a kollection but i canāt remember. But it sucks that they go to waste in my kloset.Ā

@Idkkh THANK YOU. You spilled. We havenāt had an earnable black hairstyle since May. 5, so far, have been in diamond kollections. (counting the ones I saw from thing that shall not be named). Itās ridiculous and unfair. Theyāre throwing us bread crumbs and calling it āinclusivityā. Theyāre literally monopolizing over us being desperate for inclusivity and they know black dolls will spin just for a chance to make their dolls have the hairstyles they wear irl.Ā I went through the professional event thread that had the bantu knots and people compared them to homelessness, said they belonged on a mental institution patient, called them doodooballs????, said they were ugliest hair theyāve ever seen in the game, said it was a new low for glu, and a black male doll told the white dolls that they were being rude and tried to educate them on the origins of it and they said āno, itās just ugly. idc if itās culturalā And these disgusting posts have not been deleted. But I bet these ones will be. š„“
Hey dolls, can you be honest with me? i really don't understand. Maybe I look somehow wrong, or my looks are not TROPICAL enough that they did not even score 40 š„²
@KatiaKKH your looks are gorgeous and on theme--I really don't understand. A lot of us have been having the same issue, unfortunately. Makes us believe the votes aren't real.

We come from different walks of life and experiences so just leave it at that and stop restircting others from doing what they want.

Sweetie, I don't think it's the right thing--I KNOW it's the right thing. It's almost as if you're not paying attention to what we're all trying to say. You're the type of person to have the mentality of saying the N slur and saying "it's just a word." It's wrong and it's disgusting to think that way. Culture is absolutely NOT relative. This topic is not up for disagreement.

This is not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of facts. Telling the other dolls to "log out" is us telling them to stay out of it. Now go ahead and log out for me.Ā
