Can't add avatar picture

I am on the goal to change my picture. Everytime I click on a picture from my gallery nothing to happens. So I end up having to exit out of the game every time and reload. How do I successfully add my avatar picture? Are the pictures too big? I don't understand why none of mine will work. Please help

I recently started playing this game and really enjoy it but have the same issue with regard to posting a photo, its one of the instructions to be done to move on to the next. It just doesn't move on once I select a pictures. Looks like a glitch that needs correcting.
