I wasn't given a chance to defend an artifact

Less than 10 minutes before midnight 2 of my artifacts were attacked. I didn't play till just after midnight because I wanted to do the daily challenge. It took me several tries, but I beat the daily challenge after about 20 minutes then went to try and defend my artifacts. One of the 2 that was attacked was already showing that I had to recover it even though it was attacked less than 30 minutes earlier. This is the third time I had to recover an artifact due to bugs in the game. The first time the status got randomly changed and the second time was because the armor collection wasn't working.

SvsZ2 had this bug months ago and it was fixed. This problem never happened until after a patch was pushed to my iPad about 6 hours ago.
