Event Divisions

Does anyone know how event divisions are formed? We have clubs getting 9 million and we're struggling to crack 100,000. Why are we in a division like this? We rarely get in the top 50 and the top teams just destroy us.

It doesn't matter the size of your team or your star rating. Divisions are formed by when you click the "club rankings" tab in your events page. So, if a 1 star team and a 5 star team both click it at the same time, they will be in the same division.
