A better solution to combating players who buy their way up the ladder or cheat is to simply create brackets for players and place limits on who you can attack. Here's an example bracket system:
0 - 1,000
1,001 - 5,000
5,001 - 15,000
15,001 - 25,000
25,001 - 35,000
Limits would be: you may attack anyone in a higher bracket, but you cannot attack anyone in a lower bracket. This would be in addition to the current soul cost adjustments they may in the last update.
