My suggestion is not to spend your real money. Just keep playing. Win or lose you still earn coins. The daily challenge will also help in gaining coins and rewards if you win.
Also suggest you read some of the many posts on here regarding what are the best allies to get and upgrade.
Don't spend your real money, that is how these games companies make heaps of money, by people giving them money for what is only a game. It is only a game at the end so the day.
