Level XIV+ Teams?

If the game currently only goes to level XIII island 2, how are there tournament teams that are level XIV and higher? How did they get those creatures? I can understand if someone got one of the level XXX creatures as a reward from a previous tournament, but that's not the case most of the time.

    I'm not sure. I do know that when I was rank XII I won a level XIII monster in the tournament. After I won it and built it up my team score went high enough were I became a level XIII team even though I couldn't build level XIII creatures yet. So I assume if you won one or more creatures above level XIII and built them up you could achieve a level XIV or higher team rank.
