Been trying to upgrade SS and 2b forever but no luck so far. I'd like to get one Ace pitcher like a Kershaw or Felix or someone, and then could probably upgrade my bullpen a bit.

Wait, you didn't spend any real money besides the $1.99 to get rid of ads? Did you use a hack? There's no way you build that team without any real money or a hack

See no response to that. Agreed, team was worth a grand easy.

be honest, how much have you spent? and is there any part of you that feels like you're just buying wins like the yankees do?

Don't ask people to post their line ups and then slam them if they have a good team and maybe spent a little money. Sorry that this game really only gives out good players if you spend real money. I don't know why everyone gets so offended by players who are willing to spend some of their own cash to build a good team.

I have honestly spent 0 dollars on this game. I have spent an enormous amount of time on this game ( far more than I care to admit). All of my gold had been earned from watching videos, winning gold from games, placing for the day/week (used to get up to 1200 a day and an additional 1600 a week. I would probably average placing 3 days a week and place for the week once I actually hit legend level. Other thing that helped a lot was their promotions. After the first I saved my gold in hopes of another one which landed me posey/puig/beltre/pence plus guys I've traded in. Other thing that has helped was plain old luck. I got goldschmitt very early on and just yesterday got vmart with a first round pick.

Anyone that has a bomb squad used real money to get there, don't let them tell you otherwise. It's a shame they feel uncomfortable to admit it. I have Posey and Pence, got them during the event. If I didn't pay for them, I'd still have **** on top of ****. Believe me, it was worth it, I play this game far more than I play the others, and Posey is an absolute ANIMAL. Hits .380 with 30 homers and 119 RBIS in Legend against the top pitching. He would destroy Hall of Fame or MVP. People that have a lot of 5 star players spent money, get over it!

Yep it's impossible to collect that much gold to get a whole squad of 5 stars. If you're not paying for it in game then you are collecting gold through the offers which cost money and time. I've spent money to build my team and don't regret a nickel. I've actually had people attack me with hate messages in the game. Childish haters.

I have all 5* except at catcher and I haven't spent a dime...just a ton of time. I spent weeks collecting cash and gold. Then drafted every player in the game with that cash and gold. It took basically an entire day and I came up a little short because I underestimated the cost. People here have started threads with the same story(and some different problems). It can be done.

It's a constant work in progress. And yes I have spent money, you really have to. Ive also got a second team that rivals this one
with better pitchers. Jose Martinez as my ace.

For the record, I have PTSD and am unemployed, so I spend a lot of time playing this game which has earned me enough gold to build a great team thanks to tournaments and trading for draft picks.

I don't remember exactly. Basically you buy all the late rounders, then all the 2nd rounders and then 1st rounders. It comes down to cash, gold and picks. The game gets terribly slow and crashes a lot. I miscalculated and got to the point where I ran out of money but the game is so bogged down you can't make lineup changes. I tried to change my c but ended up with a lesser player and the game continually crashed so I went with it. A couple of weeks later I drafted Wilson Ramos and he is my only non 5*. There are several threads with the amounts. I would go over a bit, try to wait for a sale and prepare to be frustrated. It's nerve racking. Make sure you log in via email or Facebook...there were times I had to delete the app and reinstall.

If you start with 0 inactive it will cost approximately 1.7-1.8 million cash and about 9,750 in gold.

I will be attempting it shortly, hopefully within a week. I'm at 1.45 million cash and 10,500 gold. I'll try to keep track of my progress and update on the forum.

    My Current Lineup looks like:

    BN: Jhonny Peralta 4* 6/7/3
    BN: Pablo Sandoval 4* 7/5/1

    SP: Gio Gonzalez 4* 7/4/7

    SP: Ervin Santana 4* 6/6/6
    SP: Zack Wheeler 3.5* 7/2/7

    RP: Drew Storen 4* 6/7/7
    RP: Will Smith 3.5* 9/4/7
    Closer: Casey Fien 4*7/9/6

Carlos Gomez & Posey are studs, Adam Lind and Yadi have been outstanding for me, Longoria plays well

I've been trying to replace Odor for awhile now, does anyone know if there is a 2nd baseman prize in the tournaments along the way.

Also do no be fooled by Fien's stats, the guy gets shelled every time he pitches regardless of whether it is a CPU or human. Against human players he gives up 2-4 runs every inning, and against the CPU he gives up at least 3 runs. I can't tell you how many games he's cost me

If you keep doing the $35k cash tourneys you will get Kendrick, R 8/2/6.

    Rotation for Legends
    SP 1: Johnny Cueto

    SP 4: Jose Fernandez
    SP 5: Masahiro Tanaka

    Relievers

    RP1: Dellin Betances 9/6/9
    RP2: Glen Perkins 9/8/8
    SM: Koji Uehara 9/9/9
    CL: Kenley Jansen 9/7/9

i recently switched uehara out of the closer position for jansen. uehara pitched pretty well (90% save rate with a 2.5ish ERA) but jansen's early numbers have been dominant so i decided to try him at closer for a while.

the legends rotation i have yet to try out against them, but individually they seem to have done the best against the legends (all righties with good control except for fernandez and 8/9 stuff). usually cueto is the best performer against the legends. have yet to try out kluber against them. i like my normal rotation against humans though.
