My line-up upgrades are all at 6. I can't get any gold to move it up past that. Can't win MVP
playoffs yet but working on it.

Started playing in late December 2014 but now it seems my team is basically frozen. Can't get any good players.

tbatti, I would recommend saving your inactives. It has worked extremely well for me!

My new lineup. I have 784 inactives right now. The game is slow loading but I can deal with it.

    C Lucroy 4.5* 8 4 4
    1B Cabrera 5* 9 7 2
    2B Murphy 4.5* 8 3 6
    3B Rendon 4.5* 7 6 6
    SS Tulowitzki 5* 9 9 2
    LF Yelich 4.5* 8 3 7
    CF Harrison 5* 9 5 8
    RF Blackmon 4.5* 8 5 2
    DH Uribe 4.5* 8 5 2

    Subs
    PR Span 4* 8 1 9
    PHL Freeman 4.5* 8 5 2
    PHR Molina 4.5* 8 4 2

I acquired Miggy Tulo and Uribe from position specific picks. I believe this worked well for me due to all of the inactives I have saved up, but they sure make my lineup look fearsome.

    Surfin:

That is a very strong lineup indeed!

One thing to consider. Uribe and Freeman are both 8/5/2, but Freeman is a lefty. All things even, a lefty will hit for a higher average in this game. I would swap them.

Oh yeah lawman you are definitely correct. Freeman is a monster for me too. 360/410/490. I'm just giving Uribe a try for a change just to see!

I'm actually winning tourney players and trading them in right now for #1 picks. Starting to work but need a cash build up.

My new and final roster. I was sooooo tired of the devastating lag. I also could not change my pitching roster.

    C Posey 5* 9 6 1
    1B Cabrera 5* 9 7 2
    2B Altuve 5* 9 2 9
    3B Beltre 5* 9 6 2
    LF Harrison 5* 9 5 8
    CF Trout 5* 8 9 6
    RF Dickerson 5* 8 8 6
    DH/Subs
    Stanton 5* 7 9 5
    Bautista 5* 7 9 4
    Frazier 5* 7 8 8
    Cano 5* 8 4 5

Whoever I decide to put at DH depends if I want another lefty in my lineup. Bautista is absolutely crushing. 25HR in 80 games.

    Ace Tanaka 5* 7 9 8
    SP2 kluber 5* 8 8 8
    SP 3 Fiers 5* 7 8 8
    SP 4 Roark 5* 4 8 8
    SP 5 Degrom 5* 7 6 8

So far all are doing great. Tanaka is my absolute favorite of the bunch.

    LR Sanchez 4.5* 5 8 9
    RP1 romo 4.5* 7 8 8
    RP2 McGee 4.5* 9 6 8
    SM Vincent 5* 8 8 8
    CL Uehara 5* 9 9 9

30+ innings for most of my relievers. All eras under 3. Sanchez and Vincent have also performed well against the legends.

I am completely happy with my team. And also not having to wait 90 seconds to load. I also did not want to have the same team as most other players who did the run. Good luck with your own run at all players guys.

  • brucen44brucen44 Registered Users 42 Posts
What device are you using and how many inactives do you have that is causes such a lag? I'm using iphone6 with 1006 inactives and I can't even access my team to make changes.
  • SurfinZapdosSurfinZapdos Registered Users 152 Posts
haha whoops forgot that. Tulowitzki is my SS. 9 9 2. And I am using iPhone 6 as well. I skipped late rounders and ended up with about 890 inactives. Just enough to change my lineup, but with difficulty. Pitching could not be accessed. Good luck!

Mixx: you should replace 1B Anthony Rizzo with 1B Adrian Gonzalez. 7 hit over 6 is always preferred, even with Rizzo's 9 power. I'd also take Ortiz out of your lineup and put Yelich in as your DH. Get that 8 hitter into the lineup! Especially over a 6.

My current line up (vs righties)

    D. Span 819
    C. Crawford 739
    J. Werth 864
    E. Hosmer 744
    P. Sandoval 751

    M. Holliday 763
    J. Reyes 739
    H. Kendrick 826

    Bench. R. Davis, A. Rizzo, Y. Gomes

I like my lineup a lot, just wish I could get 1 person with high hitting and power. For now I'm just spraying singles all over and it's kinda working out lol

    Pitchers

    Lester 788
    C. Hamels 768
    G. Gonzalez 747
    D. Fister 397
    S. Kazmir 667

Not bad starters, but Id like to get atleast. 1 more ace type player

    Pen

    J. McGee 968
    S. Romo 788
    T. Hunter 598
    P. Neshak 689
    K. Jansen 979

Pretty happy with my bullpen. It shuts down the legends team

Making some slow progress (started late Dec). Upgrades are all at 7 now. Still need a real SP or 2 or 3.

Tbatti. yeah Dickey is the Pits...i think you can start a 2.5 star and do better. Imo. I like facing him. Ross is a solid pitcher I have him as my #3 (Just p/u Lester) and he holds his own with a 3.4 era
  • thesheriff33thesheriff33 Registered Users 97 Posts
With the next fan rewards I plan on acquiring Miguel Cabrera to be my new 1st baseman. I was curious should I start Adam Lind 8/6/1, or Yadier Molina 8/4/2? I know Lind has the better power, but I feel like being a RH batter is better than a lefty (correct me if that logic is way off)
  • StarCatStarCat Registered Users 269 Posts
I have experience with Molina but not Lind. Molina was solid for me. A lefty batter can have advantages, especially since most pitchers are right handed. I like having a lefty on my bench to come in to pinch hit late in a game to pinch hit for a right-handed batter against a right-handed reliever.

    C-Molina 8/4/2
    1B-Morneau 9/5/2

    Freeman 8/5/2

    SP
    Lester 7/8/8
    Darvish 9/4/8
    A Wood 7/6/8
    Wainwright 5/8/8
    Duffy 4/3/9

    Boyer 5/8/8
    Romo 7/8/8
    Tazawa 7/8/7
    Soria 9/6/7
    Rodriguez 8/6/8

I have 694 inactives, so the game does run slow, but I'm close to knocking out all the rest of the guys under 4.5 stars. I've beaten the Legends once somehow, and have been up 3-0 on them twice since. Lost four straight both those time while giving up over 20 runs in 6/8 of those games. Aggravating as hell.

I just looked at the lineup I had last time I posted, and almost nobody is in the same spot.

    My current line up is:

    C-Buster Posey 5* 9/6/1
    1B-Miguel Cabrera 5* 9/7/2
    2B-Jose Altuve 5* 9/2/9
    3B- Adrian Beltre 5* 9/6/2
    SS-Hanley Ramirez 5* 8/7/7
    OF-Carlos Gomez 5* 7/7/9
    OF- Hunter Pence 5* 8/5/6
    OF- Adam Jones 5* 7/7/4
    DH- Adam Lind 4.5* 8/6/1

    BN: Yadier Molina 8/4/2 4.5*
    BN: Charlie Blackmon 7/5/9 4.5*
    BN: Adrian Gonzalez 7/7/2 4.5*

    SP-Jon Lester 5* 7/8/8
    SP-Danny Duffy 4* 4/3/9
    SP-Danny Salazar 4* 8/6/6
    SP-Homer Bailey 4* 6/6/7
    SP-Jose Quintana 4* 6/6/7

    Long-Cody Allen 4* 9/3/8
    RP1-Kirby Yates 4* 9/5/7
    RP2-Kevin Quackenbush 4.5* 8/4/9
    SM-Darren O'Day 4.5* 7/6/9
    CL-Luke Gregerson 4.5* 6/7/9

I want to say thank you to everyone on the forums for the advice given to me, it's been a huge help in building my team. Danny Duffy is outstanding, and the advice on collecting gold on the leaderboards has helped out a ton especially during the Fan Rewards period as it's allowed me to get both Lester and Miggy.

    Still playing the 2014 game:
    C Yadier Molina 4.5* 8/4/2
    1B Anthony Rizzo 5* 6/9/4
    2B Dee Gordon 3.5* 7/1/9
    3B Kyle Seager 4.5* 6/8/5
    SS Troy Tulowitzki 5* 9/9/2
    LF Matt Kemp 5* 7/7/5
    CF Starling Marte 4.5* 7/4/9
    RF Ryan Braun 5* 7/7/6
    DH Drew Stubbs 4.5* 6/6/9

    Subs:
    Shane Victorino 4* 6/4/6
    Willie Bloomquist 2.5* 6/1/3
    Gerardo Parra 3.5* 6/3/6

    Starting pitchers:
    Jon Lester 5* 7/8/8
    Danny Duffy 4* 4/3/9
    Jake Odorizzi 4* 7/5/6
    Tony Cingrani 4* 8/2/8
    Gio Gonzalez 4* 7/4/7

    Relief pitchers:
    Joakim Soria 4* 9/6/7
    Dane Eveland 4* 7/7/7
    Kyle Crockett 4* 5/7/8
    Jonathan Broxton 3.5* 5/4/9
    Kirby Yates 4* 9/5/7

I don't know why Stubbs isn't a full five stars, with twenty-one points total between hitting, power and speed, but there may be hidden attributes in play: After 738 at bats, Stubbs is barely over the Mendoza line; he can't get on base for $%!#. Contrast that with Willie Bloomquist, who probably has you wondering "what the hell is he still doing on the substitute roster?!" After 530 at bats before I replaced him with Tulo, Bloomquist batted .285. He and Stubbs both have a hit rating of 6. I don't get it, unless again there are hidden attributes in the code. In any case, Willie was my best hitter for a long time and I'm never getting rid of him. I've traded four star players to avoid this (see below).

Rizzo, Seager, Victorino and Bloomquist have been with me from the beginning. Rizzo, Seager and Victorino all got bumps in their game attributes last fall. Victorino was my star player on my initial roster at 3*, while Rizzo and Seager weren't rated anywhere near where they're at now (<3*).

Finally, here's the team I started with, followed by some decent to very good players I've had but ultimately traded away:
    Originals
    Willie Bloomquist
    Shane Victorino
    Anthony Rizzo
    Kyle Seager
    Delmon Young
    Andre Ethier
    Nick Swisher
    Carlos Triunfel
    Mark Teixeira

Good, still had to 'em go
    Wellington Castillo
    Junior Lake
    Josh Rutledge
    Marcell Ozuna
    Oswaldo Arcia
