I'm setting my team up to have the fastest players while keeping a high hitting ratio, here's what I have so far.
C Buster Posey 9.6.1
1B Jose Abreu 9.9.2
2B Jose Altuve 9.2.9
3B Todd Frazier 7.8.8
SS Danny Santana 9.3.9
LF Ben Revere 9.1.9
CF Michael Brantley 9.5.7
RF Josh Harrison 9.5.8
DH Hanley Ramirez 8.7.7
Subs
Tulo 9.9.2
V-mart 9.8.2
Carlos Gomez 7.7.9 for pinch running.
Any of you guys have any suggestions or make any changes?

You should start V-Mart as DH. He's a switch hitter with 9 hit he needs to start. I wouldn't use Gomez on the bench. I've found the need for a runner diminishes at Legends level.
I assume you got all the palyers??? Get Beltre in for Frazier. Get McCutchen in as well.
I was under the impression that a 7 vs 9 SPEED is not as much of an upgrade as a 7 vs 9 HIT. I am currently testing this by swapping (2) of my 7 HIT / 9 SPEED players out with the 8 HIT / 6 SPEED benched players. The averages on the 8 hitters are in the low to mid 300's while the 7's are mid-high 200's. As you mentioned, I am required to hold up on routine popups, but the increase in hits seems to be more beneficial.
