Glitch, Bad programming, or ...?

My ace pitcher (4.5*) has by far the worst record and the highest era of my lineup. I thought at first it was just poor luck with match ups but it's been consistent. I've moved him down but still ***?
Another issue is closers. When on auto play for events I'll be winning the whole game then my closer (9,4,7) comes in and gets destroyed. Again this is something that consistently happens.

same thing with your closer, if he's a lefty than that could be part of the problem. so far i've only had one lefty reliever who had better than a 3.75 ERA and he is 5/5/8.
how does your closer compare to your other relievers like skill-wise and stat-wise?
