Logging in and out

I have read some logs on here about getting more gold by logging out and back in, it says you may lose all of your progress if you log out... Does anyone know if you do lose everything when logging in/out.

I've never lost anything when I've logged out when I was playing a couple accounts in TSB 2014. I had loved up too fast without building up my team so I created another account to start from scratch again. But I can still go back to the old account and everything is still there.

if you are logged in with google+ or facebook then it shouldn't be a problem. if not then i'm not 100% sure.
