HR Battle Pauses

Is there anything that can be done to maybe pause during a HR derby battle?  I get that it's a live head to head competition but when you get a phone call (we are playing on phones) you end up being disconnecting and eating a loss. And texts and other notifications block out the pitcher making it much tougher to time a hit

    You can put it on airplane mode with wifi still working.  That cuts down on text and calls.
