  Depends on how good your team is. If you're loaded with 4 star or better players, it's not. If you have a lot of 3 star or worse, then it is.

  I have a few 3.5 star players left on my roster. I find about one out of 5 #1s are useful. Every so often, I hit a 5 star.

  That will go down as your team improves. Algorithms built into the system give you less preferential picks as your team improves. In basic terms, the better your team gets the less likely you'll get a good player.

  Don't spend gold on picks. Accumulate some draft picks through club rewards.
