Pitching Changes

Does anyone know how pitching changes are determined during auto play? Are changes made, for instance, only when a pitcher is struggling, or fading, or exhausted? Is the pitcher in the "long" position always brought in following the starting pitcher, or does it depend on how early or late in the game it is? Is the SM always brought in to pitch the eighth inning and then the clothes are always brought in to pitch the ninth?

Auto means completely randomized I'd bet. The game would bring in your 1B to close games if there wasn't a safeguard against it!
