  No, when you click on the franchise list he's there twice. Once with poor stats and he costs 1 franchise coin for 5 games. Once with better stats and he costs 2 franchise coins for 5 games. It doesn't say anything about prime or regular. Unless I'm just not seeing it. I just don't understand why the same player is there with different stats.

  The one with better stats that cost 2 coins is Franchise prime Pedroia. Look very closely at the banner under their name in the picture
