I've got a theory, and wanted to see if anyone agrees. I've found that the toughest pitchers to hit against are the guys with high arm and stuff ratings (obviously) but really LOW control ratings. Like a 9-1-9 guy.
Reason being, they throw a lot of pitches outside the zone but they throw it fast and you end up swinging and missing at a lot of pitches in the dirt.
Bottom line: I'd rather bat against a 9-7-9 guy than a 9-1-9 guy any day.

For me personally, when hitting, I don't usually have problems with guys with straight fastballs and breaking stuff. Curveballs and sliders aren't that tough to recognize. It's the guys who throw hard with both cutters and/or sinkers and/or moving fastballs that gives me the most probs. I think I have always struggled against Papelbon and Uehara.
