What is the real advantage of tiering up?

I understand what the game advertises... Better rewards, ability to get better club level up rewards, increase player's cap.. But, strategically and in terms of the experience, all that I've heard is that this makes the game significantly harder. Is there any real discernible reason/strategy to leveling up?

Once you have enough resources, these are the benefits of leveling up:

-WoH appears to be easier as you level up
-CvC appears to benefit those in higher levels
-You can crush all those cookie cutter silver teams in h2h battles
-Gold is shiny; Plat is a rich man's Silver; Diamond is also man's best friend

    And...that's it! :)
If you're not having fun, you're losing.

Simple. It makes the game fun. Once you begin to plateau, the game becomes less and less fun as there is less and less new content and challenges. Leveling up adds more power to your account as well as an opportunity to grind for the resources you need and new content in certain events. In other words, leveling up makes the game fun again (For those who level up at the right time. People who level up early may experience hell).

WoH is easier as gold than silver? I had heard the opposite

@nym5fan Yes! By almost all accounts, WoH is easier as you level up. This assumes, of course, that you're able to cap your players.
