Confusing Match Me Game

I was playing a random match me game. It says I outrank my opponent. Clearly the other guy has a higher overall rating. What gives?

Also, does anyone know how Match Me games work, specifically regarding wins? If your opponent quits or stops playing, is there a certain amount of innings that needs to be played to be awarded the win?

If they quit you get the win. If they stop playing you can nudge them and if they still don't play you get the win 24 hours after the nudge. I wouldn't abuse the nudge though and give them sufficient time as some only log in once or twice a day.

Yes. One or two nudges they forfeit automatically. Not sure 1 or 2 any longer

That's crazy thanks for the heads up @houmy I'll be more gentle with them in that case .I use them all the time. Didn't realize it was a d***head move on my part

I’ve nudged people at least 5 times. Didn’t seem to make them forfeit.

As mentioned I didn't remember if it was one or two nudges as I haven't used it since 17. Here is what GLU has posted about it. Apparently you also have to have the lead in order to get a win.

I always assumed you had to at least have a certain amount of innings played to get the win. Otherwise, people would just use other accounts to start Match Me games against themselves, only to quit after an inning.

@bravesfanla starting bogus match me games wouldn't work as they wouldn't count towards a division win. Only games that match you randomly count towards division wins and games where you search for the opponent by name are just for fun.

So if I play a random opponent and win, I get the division win. What if after that initial game we do a rematch?

Rematches wouldn't count either. Only the initial match me games.
