CVC advice

Whether I’m an 8k gold team or a 4500 bronze squad one thing is as certain as desth and taxes: my CVC team scores peanuts whether I autoplay or manual play. Oh, and I watch as similarly ranked teams absolutely murder CVC. I feel like I’ve tried everything and I’m crying “uncle.”

Can someone please share the secret to being good at this part of the game? I’m really hoping the answer isn’t “throw gold at the problem”. I don’t feel like getting a roommate for this game.

I have the same issue and I have a powerhouse of a silver team. People that are crushing don't know why they're crushing. People that are struggling, like myself, don't know why they're struggling. Case in point, one of my friends just went to gold yesterday. His CvC score is dramatically improved despite having four legends that are still silver. Meanwhile, another friend with capped legends in gold is struggling.

Even though it was probably a typing error, customer service told me cvc is rigged.

I wonder, based on @DFBB’s comment, if they make cvc harder after so many wins to make you want to move up.

Ive always felt this was the case with prime events and bonus games, but might want to add cvc into that as well as bonus games and prime events are much easier right after you jump to the next level. Had a clubmate earlier this year who couldn’t streak past 10 for prime events jump to gold and all of a sudden then next day he ran out of gold in the 40’s

@Bigpredfan Unfortunately, that's not the case. If anything, I had a theory that the more wins you had, the better your team is for CvC. Most of the teams that crush CvC have a lot of wins, relative to their tier level.

Edit: Bonus games and prime games are directly influenced by total wins. CvC, however, works differently.

Not sure this is 100% correct. Im a 90k team strength at silver and i win literally every prime game i play. Cant win a bonus game to save my life. Regularly match up against platinum teams with 20k strength lower than mine and get crushed.

In regards the the original comment. Like i said my team is strong for silver. And cvc for me is like clockwork. If i dont spend any gold and autoplay i score about 0-15k per round. When i use the gold multiplier boost it bumps me to 40-100k per round. In my 9 tries i usually put up around 400-500k per match. Without gold it is drastically reduced. For me its certainly pay to play. But other guys in my club put up half a million easy everytime with no boost.

i never use hit or power boost because my 200ovr batters are always better than the pitchers im facing.
my record is 6700 wins 800 losses give or take a few if it makes a difference.

@jpuck6190 One your win streak in prime reaches a certain number, it will be similar to bonus games.

Cvc is definitely weird sometimes. At some times I get less than 1k and other times I get much much more in the same game round. Just doesn't make sense.

I’ve had rounds of 0 in autoplay, and rounds of 1M in autoplay, I’ve had manual rounds of 500-600k if I start grooving lots of HR in a round, I’ve hit 15 HR in one round before. My team is around 101-102k in gold with a little over 10,000 wins.  I run a pretty balanced setup of 4L,5R handed hitters with most of them especially in the middle with great power (280+) and everyone besides the catcher has 250 hit rating or more.  I’m not exactly sure what the sweet spot is but after adding sig JD this weekend to the lineup I’m averaging 1.5M per 9-11 rounds and have won high round all 4 games thus far despite our club losing twice.  I tend to think it’s pretty random but at least for me the teams I’ve seen put up huge numbers including mine have been gold teams of 95-100k + strength. Your mileage may vary depending on what seems to be random factors.

I have better luck this weekend than the last few ones. Can't figure out why as I am not doing anything differently.

On my C team, I have a few decent prime hitters and enhanced, plus this weekend on that team, there's cvc trout, bonus players zobrist and freese, and my match scores have not been more than 40k... 7 rounds with those guys and only max 40k points... while my other teams do anywhere from 150k to 1 million for a match without any bonus players or cvc trouts etc... go figure

I have 2 teams. Gold 91k sucks balls at cvc. Im talkin 10,000 in 8 entrys.  Silver team 80k gets over a million at times.  Cvc is stupid.

Yeah I wish I could figure out CvC as well. I have a 101K gold team, and am lucky to put up 8,000 a round. Another dude in our club has a 94K gold team and puts up at least 500,000 every single autoplay. It's infuriating. Doesn't help that I'm desperate for LXP. 4 Legends sitting on the bench and I've already traded some in for the XP. I'd gladly take the L at CvC if glu didn't make it so damn impossible to level players :/

Click team, click gameday, unlock every single player, set roster to potential. Then click autoplay every round. The first 7 rounds may b3 3k-10k each and the last 150k. But make sure all players are available, capped and, upgraded. Then simply trust the $5,000 autoplay to score for you.

I personally played out a 250k entry, but had autoplay get me 330k the same round. Trust autoplay for every entry.

Win loss record would be different if you ran a string of bonus games so that ain't it.  I wish the juju could be figured;  things like WOH algorithms seem pretty clear in that in analysing the featured stats (hit, power, speed) there seems to be a common thread in what equates success (total rating of a certain level, better the hit and then power rating is the more success.  Pretty logical).  CvC defies any logic that I can figure from a man on the outside looking at others.  Teams that appear strong in my club who perform well in other events (WOH for example) can be god awful at CvC.  Not too much in the converse though, as the consistent top scorers in the club DO have the best teams.  I guess it's that second tier, the teams that are good, not the best in the club but still in the upper half of scoring and gross ratings.  Some of those teams are CvC dogs whereas some of their counterparts in the lower half of the table in terms of overall ratings and general event scoring do better in CvC than you think they should.  Someone needs to contact a developer friend and get the Cliff's Notes to this story.

I just wanted to bring this back up...have we learned anything since the original post? I have the second highest team strength in my club, use the gold multipliers sometimes, and I still would have a better chance of catching a lightning bolt with my teeth than hitting high round or MVP.

Here’s my team. I’ve also added the CVC god Zobrist who is maxed at 281 to help boost the DH spot. I recognize I’m dogcrap when it comes to first base. I’ve literally not received a single first basemen in a month since I got the crappy Hosmer prime and accidentally traded in my better blue gold glove Rizzo. So I’m working on that. Would that be the reason? Or is there something else I need to do?

Here is how my team works with cvc. May not be the same for all teams, but here is what I’ve learned with mine.

No bonus players and no gold spent: 9 entries will add up to about 100-150K. High round maybe 40K

no bonus players but with cvc subscription and gold spent for X400 multiplier: add up to 1,000,000 and high round around 400K

bonus player and cvc subscription with gold spent on multiplier: high rounds of 2,000,000 and overall match scores of 5-6 mil.

Its all about the multiplier and stringing hits together. The starting multiplier makes a huge difference as well as the bonus players. That’s all I’ve learned.

I have no bonus players, (0-11 with the boxes), and yesterday my first entry with the 2 videos boost i made a 1,141,360 pts and with the 8 other entries with 50gold boost i made a total of 200k pts ..... !!!!
    Try to understand that !!!!

The one thing that has happened with my team makes me think that there an element to CvC that is similar to bonus games, where you start losing them once you've been in your tier for too long. I was silver with a stacked team and couldn't do anything in CvC and literally all I did was move to gold tier and I am crushing it now.
  • redlegs2018uredlegs2018u Registered Users, Member 1,048 Posts
My CvC has been somewhat consistent in gold I’d range from 500k to around 1.1-1.2M per match, when I first went to plat I could only max 3 guys at first which depressed my scores to 200-500k per match.  I have 6 hitters capped now and my scores are back near where they were in gold with some scores higher at times.  I rarely have bonus players since I typically don’t take part in weekend play or buy game changers because 1100 in a best case scenario doesn’t buy me much when the guy after a week is worse than 90% of the guys already inactive.  I try to have a balanced lineup and typically do better against RHP as most of my better players are either lefties or have skills against RHP as well.

I will never figure out CVC. Sometimes i score better manually and then there are times i will score a lot better on auto. I do feel the  boost are worthless and do not help at all.
