  Late innings is the best skill for WoH. It's the same as the WoH skill itself, but also applies to other modes.

  As DFBB said, Late inning and Walkoff Hero skill are the best WOH skills as they apply to any WOH at-bat regardless of situation or pitcher handedness.  
  
  RHP and LHP skills are the next best, you just need to know what your matchup is going in.  RISP skills are solid but useless on 4-10 and 5-10 to begin.  Blowout skills are active to begin on 5-9 and 5-10.  Supposedly skills activate and deactivate when they apply and no longer apply according to customer service reps, but there's no way for anyone to prove it or disprove it.

  @nypk do you have a pencil, some paper, and a calculator? 
  You can make a list of your batters L/R/B, HIT, PWR, potential active skill(s), and rate out what their attributes will be in any given match up.
  Create the best possible matchup for each situation.
  It takes time but definitely helps you learn what you need to do.
  It has helped me a bunch.

  Also write down throwing arm of the last 5 pitchers in round 5 and share with your club. its nice to know before you get there who to use
