Also, Drones are given as milestone rewards in the Silver league bracket... Manta class drones, as I recall, and you get 3-4 at the 25, 50, and 75 point levels, in addition to some diamonds. (At 100 you get 50 gold - again, as I recall.) Boy, does my memory suck!

In addition to the Drones acting as flying Turrets, when they are destroyed you get compensated in Diamonds... Thus they serve as a source of extra income. You can also try switching to your other weapon (the Tesla, if available) and hosing down the field, hoping to touch your for, and thus get a line on him by aiming below his health bar afterwards - assuming he survived the Tesla hit, LOL!!!

I assume that since opponents only fire Assault Rifles and Sniper Rifles, then it's the Power/Damage of those two weapon types which are factors in Base Defense Strength (and not that of the Heavy Weapon and/or Tesla Rifle). You didn't even mention the "Short Range" attack that places you in the "Long Range" position (i.e., on the catwalk), vs. being placed on the ground level - and actually at "Short Range"! LOL! The first time I saw that, I was like, "Oh, what the hell!!!":confused::p;)

Maybe I've been spoiled by other companies and other games, but I have to agree... The delay time in getting a response from Customer Service is really bad. Right at the start of a PVP fight or Campaign Mission, I look for an opportunity to double (or even multi-kill), using the scope when I fire and letting the Tesla charge up.
