I would say my top 5 overall are Cueto, Fernandez, Felix, Sale and Kluber. Have had varying results with Kershaw, Bumgarner, Cashner and Hendricks.I would put Wainwright and Lester after that. Have found that Iwakuma auto-plays well but is terrible against humans.
I use Tulo: 4240 Games, .361 AVG, .683 Slugging 12.6 AB/HR I like Hanley but only used him 200 games: .338, .536, 24.6 Santana even less: 97 games, .336, .439, 107.0
Most irritating one: Pitcher falls behind in the count 3-0, proceeds to throw 3 sweeping curve ***** for strikes you can only pop up if you can touch them. One that makes me laugh: After a balk is called, your runner stands back up in a painful looking way (maybe hemorrhoids !).
I just entered your player name, Brandaloo, in "Start a Game". It shows a very strong team on the Team Comparison bar with Tanaka as the starter. I will start the game and you can see if it shows up.
Yes, the game does seem to balance things. One thing I have noticed when you play the $35K tourneys, if I am up by a lot, blowout type game, my closer (Kenley jansen) will almost always give up 1 or 2 runs. If it is close, he doesn't.
I moved Koji to pitch the 7th per your advice in a previous thread some time ago. It has worked well. His ERA as settled in to about 2.60, and rarely gives up more than 1 run.
I could start a thread on bogus features of TSB. No manager would ever leave a reliever (or starter for that matter) in the game to give up 10 runs in one inning. Maybe if it was the 18th inning and he had no pitchers left in the bullpen.
Ok, the teams should be able to brawl!!! Today I had Sale hit 2 batters in one inning. The next inning he hit 2 more batters. The next guy up hit a grand slam. If it was realistic, he would flip Sale off as he rounds the bases, both benches would have emptied and the fighting start!!
Bumgarner, have had the longest= 261-62 in 419 starts, 3.37 ERA .273 BAA, 1.19 WHIP. Being a lefty, he does not do especially well against the legends, but I don't have the exact stats.
It's interesting to see the results different teams have with the same player. I have had Sale for 245 starts, ERA 3.21, 169-25 record. What is funny, his stats show he started 245 games but has played in 246. What did he do, pinch run in an extra inning game? His stats are between 2 others mentioned above, might mean that…
Just finished beating Kershaw 9-2 to clinch a Legends series. One thing I have noticed, it seems Kershaw (and other elite pitchers), sometimes get pitches on the corners called for strikes that most pitchers don't. Maybe I am imagining it?
