Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.
However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.
On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.
In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

Change is not scary if nobody got hurt from it. When people's tunes become worthless, that HURTS. When the value of a 600 car garage drops dramatically, that HURTS. When one used to rock and now can' hit the side of a barn instead, that HURTS.
When the people who fund your paycheck are HURT, DAMN SKIPPY they are scared of change!
"You are/were set in your ways."
Glu is a Silicon Valley company and is insular and out of touch just like Silicon Valley.
When you do the equivalent of kneecapping someone and then they now cannot run the sprints they used to do, they are the ones set in their ways?
Wow. This is like Nelson Muntz saying "stop hitting yourself" while holding the victim's hand and using it to punch the victim.
Totally blaming the victim.
Here's a radical idea. Code things the first time around CORRECTLY. This means STOP cheaping out on QA people. And if you can't afford to actually do a proper SDLC then MOVE OUT OF SILICON VALLEY to where the real world is (in the USA) and hire people who aren't insular and out of touch. We have people who know how to develop software properly.
Hint: It involves actually testing the code properly.
When you pull a Microsoft and the end user has to report bugs to you (instead of a fully staffed QA team), this says YOU ARE CHEAPING OUT ON QA.
"
The changes we made and will continue to make are meant to improve things for the good of the game. This latest change is mean to help us combat cheating. It was a necessary step, one of many, that will help us do that. Is it an all-encompassing cheat buster? No, not by itself. It’s a piece of a larger picture that will help the game be fair for all. I know, you can’t see it now, things still run like it does, but trust me, I know whats coming and and I know what we’re working towards and it definitely will help make racing more fair and more accurate so we better know who make be cheating or exploiting. Basically we want to end all the “I lost to X, no way that car can go that fast” and our replies of, “The time was within acceptable limits.” We know your frustrations with that, as are we. We’re just bound to our limitations."
Well with the tie glitch and exploits that are out because of your update and your changes, this really doesn't mean crap. You guys are so clueless and clearly don't test your coding or updates before you release them. The tie glitch was figured out 1 day after the update came out... Seriously 1 day... Exactly what have you done to improve the game? Lobbies are a wreck, tie glitch is out of control, boosts and gems have been lost and customer service doesn't respond to anyone, everyone's tunes are completely useless, changed car ratings and weights and destroyed any fun this game had left. But it's all been done for "improvements". Sorry but I don't see any improvements
Also, just throwing it out there that I volunteer for beta testing. I've done QA for several implementations and would be happy to help here, God knows Glu needs it.

LOL!.... WTF? You did NO TESTING? Just five minutes playing one account in a sandbox and you would have spotted it.
You knew what it was going to do and you just figured that messing up everyone's tunes and making it impossible to test new ones in Multiplayer would have everyone clamouring to pay for the proposed Test Track or spend gems on instant instals during Turf.

You all can say we don't care, and that we do this just to "mess" with you all. I've said this time and time again. What do we gain from pissing off our customers? Do you think angry people will be prone to spend money on your product? No. From any standpoint, that doesn't make sense.
So what are we doing? We're constantly making improvements to the game. This was a necessary step. In the long run, this benefits everyone.
What I was trying to explain to everyone, is the world of Video Games. Most persistent games are always in a state of flux, and gamers have to adapt. You can take that for what it is or you can choose not to., That's up to you. Doesn't mean I'm lying or trying to pull one over on anyone.
Could we have handled this situation better? Absolutely. Will we try and be better at this in the future? Yes. Will we keep changing and improving the game. Yes. Will we always be right? Probably not, we're only human. Does this mean everyone will like the changes we make, probably not, you can't please everyone.

Your absolutely right. You can't please everyone but you sure can piss everyone off at the same time which is exactly what happened. The changes made are enormous. Lobbies are different, ratings don't match up from car to car and no way to test tunes unless it's in showdown or turf. 1649 cars get thrown into 1656 lobbies. 1655 cars go to 1663 lobbies. How is anyone supposed to tune cars with the wildly different variables for each car?
If this is a small glimpse of what the bigger picture maybe, I'm afraid that picture looks bleak. I understand games evolve, that's the nature of gaming. But to make such drastic changes all at once and basically run off a lot of your customers, not listen to what they are saying and move forward with a faulty product is absurd.

Meanwhile this past Turf I still seen, "Light Lagers" and "Tie Glitches." Bravo Glu you didn't fix $h!t and only managed to F over the honest and dedicated racers and great tuners on this game! Bravo!!
