Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.

However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.

On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.

In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

Waiting for opponent to automatic loss without even racing

I've had this happen to me over the past few weeks in showdown and turf. The race is initiated and I get the "waiting for opponent message" and after a while goes to the "You Lose" screen with 0.00 for both times. Is this a server glitch or one that someone can initiate to automatically win? Is this the automatic win glitch I've seen people mention?

That means it was on your end your wifi was so bad but you stayed in the game so it didn't count as a disconnect, I think that's what happened at least

When this happens, neither person "wins" despite what the results screen shows. I've had it happen a few times in turf where the other person disconnects, and it shows that I was the winner...yet I don't acquire any points for the win. Usually when this happens and I talk to the person, I find out that they are playing the game on cell signal, and are often riding in a car. I know from my own experience that when you are riding in a car and trying to do something that is data intensive (streaming HD content, playing this game, etc) - it's very touch and go, depending on your provider and coverage levels in your area. 9 times out of 10 when I get "waiting for opponent" and it takes a while for the lights to come up...same deal, someone playing using cell signal instead of a high speed connection.

Thank you everyone for offering some information here. Yes these things usually happen due to a connection issue. Unfortunately there are a whole lot of opportunities for your connection to go south between your isp and the rest of the internet. Even worse, you have no way to prevent them. If it starts to happen a lot then please do submit a ticket to support.
