Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.

However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.

On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.

In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

Gear Ratio Tuning

This may be something to add down the road but the ability to tune each transmission gear ratio and the final-drive ratio would be a great addition. A system for this has been adopted by "Drag Racing" on the Play store and it would add an element of realism to the game as well as a hobby/edge for more hardcore players. Would also like to see a couple slots per car to save ratio tuning set-ups.

If CIE were to add a 1/2 mile and maybe even a 1 mile track as well this ratio tuning would almost need to be a prerequisite for adding track lengths since some cars will be gear limited on a 1/2 mile or 1 mile.

I agree but that would be a long hard process to implement

I completely disagree. One of my favorite things about this game is that it doesn't have the stupid unrealistic gear ratio tuning. Gear ratio tuning makes the game so unfair it's not even funny. Anyone can buy the upgrades and compete with anyone, its all about driver skill. Gear ratio tuning just makes a bunch of elitist teams that hoard their tunes and ruins the game for anyone that doesn't have 100 hours to spend tuning one car.

Hopefully each car already has the gear ratios hard-coded so this would just be a matter of allowing the user to edit them. If the game is pulling the gear ratios for traction and acceleration (which is how I would have tried to do it) it may be a fairly simple addition. I've never worked on a game of this magnitude so I might just be talking out of the back of my pants here as well.

I hate drag racing games with 1/2 mile and 1 mile races. After the 1/4 mile you're just coasting in top gear waiting for it to end. This isn't forza. They don't have the staff of money to go into that level of detail. Every other drag racing game on mobile OS has failed miserably in this department. No lifers find glitches and run 2 seconds faster with the same car so there's really no chance to compete. The reasons are endless.

yeah, i want this feature badly. If we can have custom gear ratio, atleast give us gearboxes with different top speed/weight/shifting speed/number of gears
