Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.
However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.
On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.
In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.
How much longer are we gonna wait?
Whats the latest word on the new update to fix the old update? Its been a month now and ipads are still useless and icons are still bloated and lights are still out of sync and cars are still being lost unjustly and money is still vanishing and players are still leaving the game. Get the picture or should I continue? Ive never experienced a disaster like this in all my years of video game playing. Even when the PSN was viciously attacked from an external intrusion it was repaired reinforced and released in a fraction of the time as it was taken to program this update. Has CIE just flat out given up on this game because players are so complacent or has all this been done purposely to bleed the money out of the game and hopefully drive old players away with hope of attracting new and less expecting players to the game? Until RR i couldnt imagine a company letting their product sit idle in limbo for so long without a sense of urgancy to get it up and running ASAP before RR joins Atari's E.T. in a New Mexico landfill. CIE's handling of this fiasco is only comparable to a heart surgeon who removes a patient's heart a month+ before the transplant heart is available. It's gonna take a lot of patience to watch this circus act to the end.
