Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.

However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.

On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.

In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

Think someone just tried to scam me

Went into game to race in the 1615 lobby with my Datsun 510 and someone starts asking who wants a free car. He said he'd prove it was 1611 with a free race so he wouldnt be mistaken with a lobby jumper. I asked him why he was giving it away and he said because he didn't like game and was quitting. So I take his offer of the free 1611 car. Then he says he has another account and he will give me another free car. He talks to me from the other account which is lv 140+ if I recall correctly and says I need to get into my rx7 gt to join his lobby for the free car. I ask why the rx7 gt, you can just join my lobby. No matter what I said he kept insisting I took my rx7 gt to the trade. When I used the excuse that my rx7 gt was repairing he said then bring your Mclaren. It all sounded very fishy to me so I logged off. Am I correct in assuming he just used the low lv car as bait to scam me?

Unfortunately that is a common scam to get a good car. You did good when the "red flags" were raised. Never trust the free car scam. Some are legit but 99.9% are not.

Thank you for your input HEMI. So far i've always been careful with lobby jumpers and never accept to pink anyone before racing first and seeing their rating. Only pinked 3 times so far, won 2 and lost 1 but I made sure we were matched rather evenly first and they didn't exit the lobby to change cars. This free car scam however was a first for me, glad I was able to spot it before it was too late.

You still need to be careful, for glitchers. Pinking is way to dangerous now a days. To many ways to lose that you have no control of.
