Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.

However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.

On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.

In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

The "Tie Glitch"

Hey all. Since the news … or rather since the spread or the “tie glitch” I’ve been working with our dev team and members of the community to see what we could do.
Tie results were put into the game in place of disqualifications. Disqualifications occur due to various issues, usually having to do with data mismatches between what your device says and what our servers say. This is to deter cheating. In the past we had reports of issues where players received a mismatch due to various issues outside of cheating. So we changed the results from a DQ to a tie while we looked into better solutions.

DNFs (Did Not Finish) are caused by connection issues. If your device does not send in race results in a timely fashion, you could get a DNF result. This is what should deter players from disconnecting during a race in order to “not lose”. Disconnecting for whatever reason should result in a DNF.
That’s where the issue was. This “Tie Glitch” should have resulted in a DNF instead of a tie. So we looked at the process of forcing a tie and found what we needed to change it so that players who attempt to force a tie, will now get a DNF as intended.

So yes, as of this posting, we have hotfixed the game so that this exploit will no longer work, and you will get a DNF and you will lose the race.

In the future I would hope that if an exploit is found, that your first inclination is not to spread it like wildfire so everyone can do it, but to contact the Admins or Customer service so we can look into it and see if it can be prevented. These things only hurt the community, it doesn’t help it.

the TL:DR version: If you try to force a tie, you will get a DNF and lose
