Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.

However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.

On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.

In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

Private team rooms... team tournaments... team vs team....

I think this would add an element of fun to teams, in addition to turf. As turf can feel like a "job" or in a rut to some and middle/low teams could enjoy this as well. Team race rooms. For starters so every team in the lands won't have a team room (and stress the servers), it can be something teams work towards. Since making a team is 40k, maybe a room can be a million? I dunno..

However once the team room is available. The teams can just race each other. Don't have to worry about joining from friends list and all the headaches that come from that. Fun for the team. But why stop there. Then build off that. Teams could setup tournaments within the team. Set like a buy in, from 10k to 500k? etc.. If team member doesn't buy in, they don't have to participate. Then the winner gets the pot or top 3 gets part of the pie. Be it $ or a car or both. Be nice to have the customizable options.

Then maybe the tournaments can be expanded to other teams. Team vs Team. Where a team can send challenge to another team, then teams can join a room and race each other. Maybe a elimination / last racer standing kind of tourney or maybe a 24 hr tourney, again.. the teams could set the options. Winning team gets the $$ pot and it's spread across the members that took part in it.

Then down the road CIE could have special team events or race their own team in it. Just another option outside of turf. One team could boast they are the best turf team, another could claim they have pound for pound :) the best individual racers.

My two cents… thnx

This would really have been nice during the off days (no turf) Sun night through Wednesday evening. I haven't played much Mon/Tuesday and caught myself playing another game I found advertised in RR when watching videos to reduce repair time! This would help keep the customers entertained all week long...

I used to hold team tourney's back before TW was created.. But now it's seems like it would be over whelming since TW consumes 96 hrs of the week haha. Plus it's almost impossible to join a friend more than once.. But it could be cool, especially to test out tunes between each other.

If I remember what I saw correctly I believe that cie is working on making a team test track where you will be able to test and tune your car as well as race other members of your team.
