Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.

However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.

On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.

In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

further tuning capabilities?

Probably cookie cutter as it's been done to a few racing games as is. But I think being able to tune gear ratios would shake everything up for the better. Everyone would have their own setups with different gear ratios and final drives ect ect. But would still be competitive. Also Nos tune settings? like Power vs. Timing of it. I think it would give plenty of cars a fair shot at being good. Rather than 1 or 2 cars controlling a whole tier with dozens of other cars being useless. I don't know just a thought.

I disagree. Tuned all my stuff on Drag Racing and Nitro Nation fairly easy when I used to play those. It's fun to learn and actually come up with competitive tunes that will always compete.

The ratings in lobbies and turf are already a mess. Include adjustable gear ratios and the game will be even more unfair.

I don't see it making anything unfair. I mean it's just an idea. But furthering tuning capabilities can decide a lot in a race in multiple ways. Which can be beneficial for most. Altering gear ratios can shave tenths off of times. Even on a stock car. The same way adjusting nos can yield different outcomes. Rather than upgrading a single part placing you in a lobby full of people that much faster than you(Like how it is now) at least you can have some confidence in your tune which indeed could win you more races than you would think. The only unfairness I see in it, is for the people who can't tune worth spit or don't even try to. Multiple tunes running similar times sounds better than one or two cars running an entire lobby. Gives more people a fair chance at earning as well imo. But ehh. Again just food for thought.

The cars now can be tuned.. You just have to know where and how. But once you learn it, it's great fun tuning. It's my main reason for playing.. Since quite a few people having managed to learn this yet, adding gear ratios would only further confuse those.

they're working on it, they need to come up with speed ratings for different gear ratios.
