Android has tons of tools that can be used for hacking and exploiting. Anyone can write and side-load any app they want, and you can repackage android OS with specific features you want. Android is definitely less no more secure, probably less so, than a PC. More people may be more comfortable multitasking on the PC, but…
Shift speed and gearing effect it as well. For example, the same weight/torque/grip that an Evo has on a car with a 6th gear would have a higher rating, and transmission upgrades increase the rating more than the 5-20lb reduction suggests on its own. I think you would need more info than the game gives you to figure the…
Were you basing the presumed rating off of the weight/torque displayed in his garage? Were you accounting for NOS and drivetrain upgrades that aren't apparent by just the weight/torque numbers?
1993 Subaru WRC! OMFGplosion!!! I'm huge 90s Subaru fan (see 1991 Legacy WRC in my profile pic). If there was a legit way to trade in the game I'd buy one.
Not to say I condone it at all, its a huge problem but until they figure out if/how they want to officially implement it into the game I don't see how to make it better besides not trading with someone who isn't a longtime trusted associate. And even then not putting real money or the majority of your assets on their word.
Honestly if the "scamming" consists only of talking people into trades and then taking their stuff, I don't see what the admins can be expected to do about it. It's your word against someone else's. Especially with the volume of butthurt about people just losing a car they liked or losing a car they should have been smart…
It can't be that hard to do an integrity check on the game files with the server when you open the game, can it? Of course, there's ways around everything but from what I've heard around the web it seems like some exploits are done fairly easily without much need to work around security features. This is just speculation…
What sense does it make to have a rating-enforced n00b lobby for practicing at low ratings, but not a rating enforced standard lobby? They could just as well have a rating enforced public lobby and an open class public lobby similar to the tournaments, but without the turf-life restrictions or prize structure. Give both…
I lost my career Dodge Charger very early on, which was my favorite at the time (I at least had the sense to have already beaten C class career). It was a straight up race too, the other guy was just faster. I wound up winning back one that was tuned better than mine with my Civic Si, lol. I considered myself hugely lucky…
They can look at your weight/torque by viewing your profile in the lobby. But just guessing based on your rating or watching your replays seems more likely and much easier.
And in regards to sandbagging, thats a whole different story. That is an actual driving technique, and if someone turns out to blow me away in an equalish car because they were hiding the fact that their shift points, are on a whole different level that just drives me to get better myself. There is no 'getting better' if…
If they want the lobbies to all be open with no rating restriction, then they need to eliminate the match-making and make them truly open lobbies. This will eliminate people intentionally joining low-rated lobbies with faster cars for easy wins on newbs, and take away the idea that the game's match-making system works as…
Ive had GT1-5. Got tiring because all the same things I didn't like about GT1 are still there in 5. Forza was like a breath of fresh air, although honestly I'd probably have both GT6 and Forza 5 if I were willing to plunk down for the new consoles.
I love Forza 4 and Horizon. Their repetitive DLC (having to buy the same cars over and over again instead of just having the old expansions added to the sequels) put a bad taste in my mouth for Forza 5 and Horizon 2. But after RR I have a whole new perspective on the value of a game, lol.
I like how showdown is much more laid back than turf. Throwing cars in there will make it an all-out competition to see who can dump the most gems like turf is.
I don't like the idea of boosts but its there and I embrace it. You want to boost on me, fine. I'll turn it on for the next run. I've got over 60 saved up.
How accurate are they guessing? Either they look at your replays in the lobby (they play if you sit there without clicking on anyone) or they know how fast your car is by its presumed rating, since a car maxed to a certain lobby rating will typically run a specific time depending on the driver. Those are the only two ways…
You're spending your money on chance, which everyone embraced and ate up rather than saying "no, if we're spending hard cash we want to just spend it on the items we want instead of a lottery". So this is what you get.
I'll second this. It seems tournaments start filling additional lobbies well before existing ones are full. And it seems once a certain amount of time has passed, the game stops joining people to a tournament lobby altogether, making the "leave & rejoin" necessary if it doesn't fill up almost right away.
