You can use them in Advanced Weapons. First you buy a schematic, then craft the weapon.
Wait, what??!! What schematic? Where do I go to buy it? Is there any place that explains all the ins and outs of this game? It's really not clear at all as to how to use some features.

I haven't figured that out either. I keep accumulating parts, but I can't find any explanation on how to use them.
