Questions regarding damage spells and targeting

Just a quick question for clarification. When using a damage spell to target multiple enemies does it divide the total damage among the targets? So if you target a single enemy you do full damage and if you target 2 you do 50% each?

The damage is not divided.
Where you're seeing different numbers could be because:
Defense of individual character
Critical hit is calculated on the individual character
