Will alternative costumes be available for free to play users?

I have noticed that most of the alternative appearances for heroes are locked behind a paywall currently, and I was wondering if there will be a way in the future for free to play users to unlock these outfits?

    I'd like to see these be made available to purchase standalone through the character tab or have it's own tab in the exchange. Don't think they necessarily need to be available free, but I think the game would make more money as more people would buy them if they were available any time.

    That would be a good idea as well. It’s really not that big of a deal that you have to buy them, after all they’re just cosmetic but it would be cool if you could get some through promoting the characters to a certain star level or something along those lines

    Easily done, have a few different variants. Some can buy for coins, others for crystals and have a Legendary for $$$. So many options.
