The game lets you have either a professional or a romantic relationship with a player. If you work with them on a project and then wish to date them, you will lose any professional progress you have made with them. It goes the other way too: if you date someone first, you will lose any romantic progress if you want them to become a co-star. Hope this answers your question!
I haven't been able to figure out how to change the relationship....do they have to appear randomly in the game for that option? In the A-List it was pretty easy...The only options I get when calling a date is start date or break up

It's different on Hollywood. Also on A list, you can work with your partner and keep the relationship.
