New here - furniture in apartments?

I'm wondering if there is any benefit to upgrading or adding furniture to apartments. Would that do anything besides make the place look better?

    There really isn't any benefit. You can use the furniture to do actions with energy, and you can get achievements from those actions.
    Beware the green Indian soda, seriously...

    It just makes the place look better =). The first time I played the game, I furnished all the houses but then I realized there were no real perks to new furniture or upgrades... so when I restarted, I just bought the houses and left them empty. It does look a bit sad for an A-List celebrity to have a giant house with just a fish tank and dog in it though!
