Deleting and reinstalling the app.... good or bad idea?

Im having trouble seeing facebook friends, who I know play, in my friends list. The forum suggests possibly reinstalling the app altogether but I'm afraid I'll lose all my progress by doing so. I'm on a droid tablet and am signed in with facebook. Has anyone successfully done this w/o losing their progress?

    Oops! I realized that I forgot to mention to not to do it if you are not on an Apple device in my ticket post x3 ! It will only work on the iOS devices because they save to your iCloud and Game Center, which are iOS specific.

    Please send a ticket to glu asking about this. They may be able to help out. :]
