I might be crazy, but shouldn’t all POTW version have a skill. If the price of gold was the same, then they all should have a skill.

It's actually a plus to me that they don't have skills as when they lose their boost they'd be on inactive in a few weeks after that as higher max players will take their place so whatever you spend on the skills would be a waste. There are a few of course, such as Yelich, that have the potential of being POTW again and thus very valuable with new higher maxes but that's never a guarantee.
