Every single time these team upgrades go "on sale" for "up to 50% off," they are always actually on sale for 0% off. I'm tired of being lied to! What's the point of this foolishness?

FFS! I've been trying to figure this out for like four days now, and not once did I think to look at the gold @ReadingFightingPhils! I guess I just kind of dismissed the idea of anybody paying gold for upgrades, but thank you 👍🏻

With the discount, it's about 49.5k gold to cap at 100.

Edit: unfortunately, I don't think it's ever more than 25% off.

I was diamond the last few months of 18 and do not think I had any team upgrades set higher than maybe 70 or thereabouts. My final team strength was around 270k or so. Never had any issues in any game modes having them that low. That said, I have been told it greatly effects CvC so maybe I will work on those a bit more this season.

@JEDDDOGGY I neglected upgrades for nearly a month after going gold, at least the 4 batting WoH related ones which I left at 55/60. Capped them last week and saw instant improvement in my CvC scores and set a personal best round nearly double what I had done while silver.
