I am assuming they delayed it so they could put the weekend boxes in it instead of the POTM boxes. I think some people with tons of resources and a lot of pull complained about that aspect. Or maybe it will have both. Maybe, just maybe, they delayed it because they are releasing the first ATG this weekend and they wanted to ensure we get a chance at it with the VIP gift. It’s just odd they didn’t release it yesterday and really didn’t give any indication as to why.

I'm fairly certain that we will get both potm and weekend boxes. An ATG box would be great, but I can only hold my breath for so long. Fwiw, last night is a great example of why they don't explicitly state when the gifts will be handed out. Yes, the pattern had been the first Thursday of every month, but w/o publishing it, they're not bound to it either.
