My new Journey on capping my diamond team

Well I just moved up to diamond. It’s been 3 days. I moved up with 10,000 LXP (silly me right?). I was getting bored of the game and wanted a new adventure. So far it has been a blast. I’ve made about 30,000 gold and I feel like I’ve found my “sweet spot”. I bought a few LXP boxes and now have 200,000 LXP. My capped platinum team is crushing bonus games and tournaments (every once in awhile I face a 500+ pitcher). Yes woh is off the table (never really was on the table for me). But im having fun and have the time to tap while I work so I figured why not. So it’s been 3 day’s since I moved up, and I wanted to make a thread about how long it took me to cap 9 legends ( living legends count 😜) from platinum to diamond. I will update this thread every few days. Oh and btw, my WOH thread will be non existent now. But for the next month, that’s okay. My goal is to cap my team 40 days from this post. I will update this thread every day or 2 with a picture of my LXP

Just remember, to level from p10-d10 with a 30% field pass discount is 464,100 p/lxp, but to level from B1-d10 with a 50% weekend discount is 469,075 p/lxp.. this doesn't take skills into account, but you can level a brand new max guy for barely more than taking a current bat to d-10. This is really only beneficial if you can CAP the guy, but keep numbers in mind in diamond 😬. The cheapest way to cap a bat is woh, so I personally would focus on building a squad that can cycle cap 👍🏻

Dude that’s not in his defense at all!!!  LOL.......it’s 100% excuse making for a douchey response!!  You made the comment, at least stand behind it, don’t wither!

Anyway, I’m interested.....but to Mar, listen to what retirepujols is saying.....you’re better off capping new and newly relevant weekend players with club and FP discount vs dragging up your existing team.  Both will cost the same but new players will have the latest ratings and new players always perform a little better.  Cost is the same.

Best way to cap diamond players is to cycle cap them, but since you haven’t done that great to date it’s a bit of wagon in front of the horse.

I agree with capping new players. But if you pull up his team he has Griffey and Harrah at Platinum 10. He has a lefty and righty closer. With capping a couple of new weekend players and those 2, WOH might not be impossible for him.

I agree with this. Cap CLOSERS, and you can fill in with weekend guys and woh guys. If you take a guy to p10 then cycle cap him to d10, you can look at that as about a 70% discount. Will you get the best players from woh? No, but you'll have a new capped legend at 70%ish the cost, which helps you save for better box players. Plus they're bonus guys 👍🏻

You’re very sharp can’t get anything past you. Since you are the expert on douchey responses I’ll have to concede that my falling asleep must have been very douchey.

Keep us posted on your progress if you’re able to beat WOH. If you need any tips see @drsmartassphd

I posted my team for you. Also I KNEW that work! I put Griffey in my profile with 3 platinum 10 bats. Griffey is also a lvl 10, but silver lol. Hard to see the difference isn’t it. And thanks for all the feedback. I will probably be bombarding you with messages yet again for tips and advice @retirepujols @bigvivec

you have great players. need to cut some and build the closers. Brett and Harrah first. Yadier too.

Thank you. I’ve been lucky. Which ones would you recommend cutting? You mean trading them in? I don’t see the point in trading in players (especially the ones I worked so hard on) for such a small return.

Just broke 300,000 LXP. Aiming for 700,000 by the end of this weekend 👍

You have (3) dynamite closers in Harrah, Brett and Griffey.  Calculate the amount of LXP needed to level those threee, buy FP...and go wild.  Those three can single handedly change your WOH experience

After them, Stanky is pretty damn good.  But leveling him or not, is going to depend on how fast you can accumulate the LXP.  If it takes too long, he might be obsolete before you have enough to do so.

Once skills are leveled on those (3) above....use your PXP yo level the (2) LL and the 470 prime guy you have.  Before too long, the PXP becomes totally worthless anyway.

you need to focus on being able to beat WOH.  Getting through that consistently will pump more LXP in to your team than you could imagine unless you’re just gonna spend a ton of money.  If you ARE going to drop cash....it needs to be 100% dedicated to stacking LXP to level the (3) guys mentioned.  Ignore new players, you already have (3) of the very best ever released

If you're okay with ignoring HoF in the short term(I believe you said you are), I'd prioritize capping Brett asap. I'd then prioritize Griffey. I'm not a fan of leveling lefty specialists like Harrah so I'd ignore him. IMO, it's a mistake for diamond guys to do so because lxp is so precious. On the other hand, if you land a guy like Pee Wee(righty bat, 2x boosted at all times), I'd actually prioritize him over Griffey. He can be your finisher vs leftys and crush rightys at the same time. Beyond Brett, however, it's probably best to take a wait and see approach. You seem to have time and patience on your side. You'd also be well served to do classic WoH and rack up some nice resources and fill out your team with some solid bxp players. Lots and lots of bonus games await. GL man!
If you're not having fun, you're losing.

My first CAPPED legend. I leveled Trout to D8 then re pulled him to bring him to D9, couldn’t re pull him again. My next project is Griffey Sr.

That’s some impressive work in a short period of time.

quick reminder from my earlier post:  do...not...neglect...skills...upgrades....

once you have Griffey upgraded...you should stop all other player upgrades until those three are at 16/16

Also, just because you have the resources doesn't mean you need to spend them. You're just starting off in diamond and need to cap players, but I hate seeing guys go completely resource broke for a player (especially one with dumb skills/not a top notch guy). Once you build your team up, SAVING resources and skipping clown bonus players is a huge help 🙌🏻

Also, I wouldn’t take Trout past 12/12.  Harrah is your 16/16+ guy

I'm usually a voice of optimism & opportunity....but this looks bad... No gold, No resources (even PXP, ouch), & I don't see any hope for HoF cycling today(which is how LXP @ Diamond is most easily obtained). If we have lefties on 4.10, 5.10, & 6.10 again, Trout will not get it done with skills at 10/10. He might have a 33% chance if skills were 16/16, being optimistic. I dont see any end game where you can cap a full team of Legends, at this point... not even Primes.
If that was my team & I jumped way too fast, I'd be cycling through D6 like mad man so I can spend 20-40k gold on Mega LXP boxes next time they show. Unless you are on a club that pulls top3 rewards, I see no feasible way of earning resources at a clip that will keep any of your current roster relevant by the time they are maxed. Good luck moving forward

@JCAM80 just wait and see. I have been D6 cycling. I’ve made about 50,000 gold in a week. About 750,000 LXP in a week (including VIP gift). I capped both these players... in a week. Give me some time lol. Can’t cap a diamond team... IN A WEEK 😜🤙🏼

    @Marcuh

i’ll be candid in admitting that I remember your very first post and thinking this guy has no chance… He’s too far in the hole

but I, like the guy above, was wrong… I’ve been absolutely stunned at the progress you’ve been able to make

Keep grinding brother… It’s pretty neat to watch how far you’ve come since that first post

Leveled Griffey to Diamond 4. Will finish him up with my field pass this week. Not sure what LL to cap yet. Probably will go with Machado since I could use a catcher at the moment.
