My F2P team got the global gift and my field pass discount worked right from the start. Even when they credited me with 6 tiers of gifts off the bat. Just got the milestone 7 gifts too.

I honestly haven't seen the "9 curves and out" scenarios since last year. There's almost always one that you can foul off which breaks the cycle and is followed by fastballs. If you miss that one, you're toast.
