Bonus player in Prime Events

I have noticed over the last few weeks that without Bonus players my win percentage in Prime Games especially during Club Main event is high. As soon as I get Bonus players in the lineup you get matched with players way higher than your Team level and your win percentage drops substantially. I have serious doubts that this is done purposely to prevent you from gaining excessive club points? Any feedback is appreciated except for members on GLU payroll.
