First franchise slot stuck at 45 games.

For the last few weeks one of my franchise slots has been stuck at 45 games. I was forced to purchase a second franchise slot in order to use them for events. The player is Nelson Cruz (DH), and the player doesn't seem to be used in any games. Has anybody else encountered this issue, or something similar?

You have a DH starting that is rated better than Cruz so he is never playing. Put the worse player you got at DH and the Cruz will take over. But you will have to play him for the 45 games before the slot opens back up.
