Level up a 4.5 star player?

I am considering leveling up a 4.5 star player over players with a higher overall rating. 
Alvarez- 265 max rating
Sano- 295 max rating
Thames- 285 max rating
Vazquez- 305 max rating

Moving up to gold on Monday, so I need to selective to make the best use of my resources. 

Regardless of position...wouldn’t Alvarez be the strongest of these 4 players for Slugfest and WOH?

    well you do have pennants in Thames already. Depends on if you need right handed hitters or lefties tho.

    Yes! I agree , but for a VERY short time benefit.

    Better for SF than both keepers, and it's not really that close.

    Those hit and power numbers are comparable with players that have 305-315 overall ratings.

    He is still in the top half of my SF roster...

    With 93 (Bote) and 99 (Sanchez) coming out this past week I’d only level up 90 power guys in gold. Anything else will fall behind quickly.
