I didn't even spend as much as some of you guys who got screwed, but after 14,000 in the drain, I felt screwed enough to do some math and see just how unlucky I was on Excel. I guess I should feel lucky to be apart of only 23% of people that that should be in position, with ZERO 5 Stars!!! I can't imagine the feeling for guys that are 20 or 30k deep at this point with the same anger. 30k Gold Spent would mean you have a 95.4% chance of at least pulling at least ONE, which blows my mind that there are people who still can't get one.

Just to be clear I am liking the process not the results. I respect a good spreadsheet and this is one of the best I've seen on this game. Kudos and hope your luck turns around
@BigTuna421 - I validated your results using my go to binomial distribution applet. I think this is the gambler's fallacy in action - many players probably assume that they've had bad luck if they buy 20 boxes and don't hit on a 5-star, when in reality they have only given themselves a 64.1% chance. You would have to buy 13 of these boxes to even give yourself a coin flip chance. I wish you better luck at the TSB casino next week.
@SandlotGuru - You're dead on about Gambler's fallacy!!! I definitely used to assume my chances for opening multiple boxes like that, and thought I was just lacking average luck! At least I've curtailed my expectations a little bit moving forward, maybe I won't get as frustrated. I may just have to stay away from the casino for a while, or at least until I feel I stand a better chance lol.

The gambler's fallacy happens when guys assume that their past results will impact future results. The formula you showed is a great way of weighing out risks and is something I constantly reference.

Odds are never in favour of the user. Probability is why gamblers will always hit rock bottom. This is why over and over a player feels like they have a chance. Stick to legitimate math. Not this shít gamblers use to justify a chance at odds.
