How do you increase level locked players

How do you increase a player once they are at 10?  It says I need more stars but he is 5 stars?

    What level are you in? You need to move to the next tier to be able to level them up to the next tier

    If you are bronze -> silver, if silver -> gold, if gold -> platinum, If Platinum (complain) then go diamiond

    you can't spell deteriorate without detroit

    Sorry new guy but how do you go from bronze to silver?

    You have to be a silver-tier team.  Play, and win, the bronze playoffs.  Then you can use gold and Evo to level your players to Silver 1, and then up to Silver 10.
